How to Measure Yourself
You'll need a soft measuring tape (the kind tailors use, not a rigid builder's tape). Stand naturally in well-fitting underwear or light clothing — don't measure over a jumper or jacket. Keep the tape snug but not tight, and parallel to the floor.
A. Neck -: Measure around the middle of your neck at collar level. Keep one finger between your neck and the tape so there's room for comfort.
B. Chest -: With your arms relaxed by your sides, measure under your arms and around the fullest part of your
chest. Tape goes across your shoulder blades at the back.
C. Waist -: Measure around your natural waistline (the narrowest part, usually around the belly button). Keep one finger between your body and the tape.
D. Hips -: Stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat.
E. Inseam -: Measure from the crotch seam to the bottom of the inside leg on a well-fitting pair of pants you already own. This is the most accurate way to get inseam without a partner helping.
F. Sleeve length -: For long-sleeve garments, measure from the centre of the back of your neck, across your shoulder, and down to your wrist with your arm slightly bent.
Tip: If you can, have someone help you measure. Self-measuring chest and back is tricky and small errors compound across sizes.
